In a press statement after the meeting, he said the ministers focused in a great part on the mechanics of effectively disseminating culture among the GCC populations in such way that it would serve these populations to appreciate their common heritages.
The ministers, furthermore, agreed to set in motion approaches to further promote the unique identity of a GCC person and to prepare strategic studies regarding the establishment of GCC cultural centers that enhance that identity, said Al-Zayani.
According to KUNA, he further said that all recommendations reached at the meeting would have to be endorsed by the GCC Council of Ministers before actual implementation.
He congratulated Kuwait on its opening of a national library, noting that it was an achievement for all GCC states and a beacon of culture for their populations.
On Global-GCC Cooperation, the ministers approved the recommendations of the GCC Cultural General Committee on cooperation projects with Jordan and Morocco, and the promotion of joint cultural cooperation with ASEAN, the European Union, Russia, Britain, Turkey, and China.
