(Riyadh-AlummahWorld, 28 Rabi ath-Thani 1436, 17 Feb 2015) Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Abdullatif Al-Zayani on Monday strongly condemned the killing of Egyptian hostages in Libya by the Islamic State group.

He described in a press statement the killing of 21 Egyptians late Sunday as a "terrorist heinous crime", saying that it has nothing to do with the noble values of the correct teachings of Islam.
The GCC chief called on the international community to step up efforts to fight the armed group in Libya and other terrorist and extremist groups.

Al-Zayani voiced much sympathy with, and support for, the leadership and people of Egypt in the face of this "horrible crime" that has shocked all Arab and Muslim peoples, while offering heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.
