(Washington-AlummahWorld, Dhu-AlQa'dah 13, 1436, August 28, 2015) Saudi King Salman will visit the U.S. early next month, the White House announced on Thursday.

"President Obama will host Saudi King Salman bin Abd al Aziz at the White House on Friday, Sept. 4," according to a statement that said the two leaders will discuss a range of issues including "conflicts in Yemen and Syria, and steps to counter Iran’s destabilizing activities".

The trip will be King Salman’s first visit to Washington since he ascended the throne in January.
In May Obama invited Gulf allies for a Camp David meeting prior to deal on Iranian nuclear progm but Kind Salman refrained to vistit US citing health concerns. There have been speculation that the king declined to attend Camp David summit of Gulf leaders hosted by Obama because of Washington’s insistence on nuclear talks with Iran.

The Saudi government said the summit coincides with a cease-fire in the battle between a Saudi-led coalition and rebel forces it says are backed by Iran.

On the other hand US Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said the king's absence reflects "a lack of confidence" in the Obama administration, especially in light of its talks with Iran.

Gulf states including Saudi Arabia is deeply concerned about US and other powers deal with Tehran on Iranian nuclear program. Yemen is also a matter of grave concern for Riyadh where Iranian backed Houthi rebels occupied territories including capital Sana forcing legitimate president Hadi to exile.

Riyadh seems to be unsatisfied with US stance on Iran and Syria. Upcoming Salman,Obama summit would be a point of judgement wheter Riyadh and Washington are stiil mutaually trusted allies.
