(Jeddah-AlummahWorld-Dhu-AlHijjah 7, 1436, September 21, 2015) The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) received a request from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to hold an emergency meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the OIC Member States to discuss the Israeli violations in the occupied city of Al-Quds and ways to stop the Israeli aggressions on Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The OIC Secretary General, Mr. Iyad Ameen Madani, welcomed the call of Saudi Arabia to hold this meeting, and stressed that it reflects the high priority and attention ascribed to the Palestinian Cause by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Madani added that the Secretariat is coordinating closely with the Member States to hold the meeting in New York during the United Nations General Assembly. He emphasized that this meeting is an urgent necessity in light of the continuous Israeli aggressions against Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Israeli scheme to divide Al-Aqsa Mosque temporally and spatially.

It is worth mentioning that Member States, notably Palestine, welcomed the call of Saudi Arabia for this emergency ministerial meeting. Furthermore, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kuwait, whose country chairs the current session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), has been following up with the concerned parties for holding this meeting at the earliest.
