(Maryland-AlummahWorld, Rabi`II 25, 1437, February 4, 2016) US President Barak Obama visited a Mosque in Maryland State on Wednesday where he condemned "political rhetoric" against Muslim Americans. He was apparently referring Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Obama was warmly welcomed at Islamic Society of Baltimore. The children led the audience, with some men in prayer caps and most women in head scarves, in the Pledge of Allegiance. A man and a woman recited a verse from the Quran about tolerance and inclusion.

Campus of Islamic society in Baltimore contains a mosque and school that runs from kindergarten through 12th grade. Anti Muslim sentiments and media portraying Islam and Muslims as extremists is a common practice in the United State. Anti Muslim activities sharply raises afte 9.11 terror attacks in the country.

Obama address the Muslim community members in the Mosque and said "So often, Muslim Americans are targeted and blamed for the acts of a few,".

"An attack on one faith, is an attack on all faiths." He emphasized.

Obama asked a row of Muslim American military service members to stand, as well as Ibtihaj Muhammad, a member of the U.S. fencing team who will be the first American Olympian to compete in a hijab, or head scarf, in this year's Rio Olympics.

The president touched on pop-culture depictions of Muslims as terrorists. "Our television shows should have some Muslim characters that are unrelated to national security, Obama said.

Some in the US called president Obama visit to the Mosque an effort to gain support and vote from Muslim communities. “When any religious group is targeted, we all have a responsibility to speak up.” Obama said.

American Presidents have been to mosques even before Obama. George W. Bush not only went to one shortly after the September 11 attacks, but he used his platform to tell America that Islam was "a religion of peace."

In a country like United State where Islamophobia is spreading faster than ever, president Obama outlined the tenets of Islam, and gave a brief history of Muslims in America.

In 2015, the Muslim community saw "unprecedented number of attacks" on individuals and houses of worship while hate speeches are increasing day by day.

US media promot to highlight negative image of Islam and Muslims after any violence in the country or elsewhere.
