International Community fulfill its promises made with the people of Jammu-Kashmir: Pakistan

(Islamabad-AlummahWorld, Rabi`II 28, 1437, February7, 2016) Pakistan strongly urged on International community to fulfill its promises made with the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif have vowed to continue Pakistan’s unflinching moral, diplomatic and political support to the heroic struggle of the people of Indian occupied Kashmir for securing their right to self-determination.

In their separate massages on the occasion of "Kashmir Solidarity Day" on Friday 5 February, they said, Pakistan is committed to just and peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute under the UN resolutions.

"On the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, the Government and the people of Pakistan solemnly reaffirm their unflinching and continued moral, diplomatic and political support to the heroic struggle of the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmi". The statement said.

The government of Pakistan emphasized that by saying that "we, alongwith the free people across the globe, salute the brave, valiant and courageous men, women and youth of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir who laid their lives for the sacred cause of freedom in the last 68 years. We pay homage to thousands of Kashmiri martyrs. Despite the worst and gross atrocities by the Indian security forces, people of Jammu and Kashmir refused to accept the Indian yoke and demonstrated that the issue of Jammu and Kashmir cannot be wished away".

The Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains the unfinished agenda of the Partition and is also one of the longest unfulfilled agenda of the United Nations. Numerous resolutions of UN Security Council on Kashmir remain pending because of Indian obstinacy in implementing them. We urge India and the international community to fulfill the promise it made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir 68 years ago.

The Kashmir dispute remains close to the heart of every Pakistani. We give the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir our solemn pledge that they can count on us in their hour of anguish. We will always stand by our Kashmiri brothers and sisters until the realization of their cherished dream of freedom. The Kashmir struggle will continue till the freedom of the oppressed people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is achieved.

President and the Prime Minster of Pakistan saluted the brave, valiant and courageous men, women and youth of Kashmir who had laid down their lives for the sacred cause of freedom during the last 68 years. They said that all the Indian brutalities and atrocities had failed to deter the people of Kashmir from their cause for freedom from Indian oppression.

They urged the international community to fulfill its promises made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir several decades ago of giving them their right to self-determination. They said that peace in the region would remain elusive until the Kashmir dispute was resolved in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.

Earlier on Thursday, during a meeting with Hurriyet Conference, President Mamnoon Hussain has said that only solution to the Kashmir dispute is to hold plebiscite in accordance with the UN resolutions.

While talking to a delegation of Hurriyet leaders in Islamabad, the President said Kashmir is a jugular vein of Pakistan.
The President said Pakistan remains steadfast on its stance on Kashmir and its stand on the issue will remain unchanged.

Hurriyet leaders who held meeting with the President include Farooq Rehmani, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Mahmood Saghar, Tahir Masood, Malik Muhammad Majeed and Athar Masood Wani.
