(Istranbul-AlummahWorld, 01 Shawwal 1437 AH, 06 July 2016) Speaking at an event held in Istanbul to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr, President Raceb Tayyib Erdogan said: “Terrorist organizations, including the PKK, PYD, Daesh and YPG, inflicted agony and shed blood throughout the holy month of Ramadan in our country and the Muslim world. Terror attacks on Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport in Turkey, then in Iraq, and yesterday in Jeddah and Medina in Saudi Arabia, caused deep sorrow in our heart.”

“Muslims’ blood continued to be spilled in our country and the Muslim world throughout the month of Ramadan. Terrorist organizations, including the PKK, PYD, Daesh and YPG, inflicted agony and shed blood throughout the holy month of Ramadan in our country and the Muslim world. Terror attacks on Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport in Turkey, then in Iraq, and yesterday in Jeddah and Medina in Saudi Arabia, caused deep sorrow in our heart,” President Erdogan said, describing the Daesh terror organization as “a dagger stuck into the heart of Muslims.”

“There is no sectarianism in Islam; there isn’t any such division in Islam as Sunni or Shi’a,” the President underlined. Touching upon the issue of granting citizenship to Syrian refugees, President Erdogan indicated that Turkey will accept some Syrian by granting them legal status.

"Through a collective work of our government, we will hopefully grant citizenship to these oppressed and innocent brothers and sisters of ours. Among them are highly qualified people with a successful career". President Erdogan said.

Shall we not receive them and let them go to England, Canada or anywhere else? We don’t make any discrimination. We have taken in Meskhetian Turk brothers from Ukraine. We have lodged them in the Uzumlu district of Erzincan. We take them in again if they come again. We take in anyone who sees himself as an owner of this homeland and as a brother of those living on these lands.”

Stating that he is addressing Turkey and those living in the Muslim world, President Erdogan said: “Turkey has the power and wisdom to overcome terror. Have no worry that Muslim world has the sagacity to free itself from the menace of sectarianism and terror, too. The only need is that the direct and indirect support behind terror be withdrawn. The only need is that we strengthen our unity, solidarity and brotherhood all together. Despite all the bitter incidents we go through, I am still hopeful about our tomorrows.”

President Erdogan completed his address with an emphasis on ‘one nation, one flag, one homeland, one state’ and celebrated the Eid al-Fitr of citizens once again.
