Pilgrims arriving in Madinah, largest number of pilgrims expected this year

(Madinah, Dhu-AlQa'dah 17, 1437, Aug 20, 2016) The number of pilgrims coming today to Madinah was 31050 pilgrims, according to statistics by the Natives' Foundation, prepared for the guides, at the Prophet Mosque, raising the total number of pilgrims coming to Madinah to 303,900 pilgrims.


According to Saudi News Agency Director of Public Relations and Media of the Foundation Turki bin Faisal Ilyas said that 22,855 pilgrims came through Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport, in Madinah, and 8078 pilgrims through Hijrah station and 117 pilgrims came through land routes, while 108,325 pilgrims have left to Makkah.

Statistics showed that most nationalities, currently, in Madinah, are pilgrims of Indonesia, at the number of 54,954 pilgrims.


Largest number of pilgrims are expected this year. The Media Center of the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umra has announced in June that the number of Umra performers arriving in the Kingdom in order to perform Haj and Umra rituals has reached on the 15th day of Ramadan 1437 AH the number of 5,888,986, a figure of near about 6 million.
