Putin meets Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed, discussed ties and oil agreement

(Moscow-AlummahWorld-Ramadan05,1438H) Russian President Vladimir Putin meets  Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense on Tuesday.

During the meeting in Moscow, they discussed ways of enhancing Saudi-Russian oil agreement, which was led by the Kingdom, among non-OPEC oil producing countries, especially Russia, and discussed means of stimulating and activating this agreement to achieve positive returns to stabilize the oil markets, Saudi News Agency SPA reported.


The two sides also reviewed the Saudi-Russian cooperation in the field of petrochemical industries and a number of oil industries, as well as the partnership and uniting efforts to combat terrorism and extremist thought in Central Asia, and the regional issues and Syrian crisis.


The meeting was attended bySaudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir; Minister of Trade and Investment Dr. Majid Al-Qassabi; Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Eng. Khalid Al-Faleh, and a number of officials from Saudi and Russian sides.

After the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced that Saudi Arabia and Russia have achieved a lot together and still have more to do.

Salman also stressed that “there are no contradictions between Riyadh and Moscow in the oil market.”

For his part, President Putin said that his country is waiting for Saudi King Salman’s visit to Moscow. He also stressed the importance of the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Russia, saying that “energy agreements are of great importance to the two countries.”

The Russian president also thanked Saudi Arabia for its role in cooperation between OPEC and the oil-producing countries.

Russian News Agency TASS quoted Deputy Crown Prince Salman as saying that the "Relations between Saudi Arabia and Russia are seeing one of their best stages at the moment," the prince said.

"The two countries have a lot of points of mutual understanding. As for the points on which we have differences, a clear mechanism exists to overcome them and we are progressing at a quick pace in this respect," he added.
