Saudi King Salman meets with US Secretary of State Tillerson

(Jeddah-AlummahWorld-Shawwal 19,1438H) The Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has met on Wednesday with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.

At the outset of the reception, the Secretary of State conveyed to the King the greetings of President Donald Trump of the United States of America, while the King expressed his greetings to the President, Saudi Press Agency reported. 
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the Kingdom and the United States of America, the prospects of cooperation between the two friendly countries, and latest developments in the region, especially efforts being exerted for combating terrorism and its financing. 

Meanwhile, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also met with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Jeddah on Wednesday.

During the meeting, both parties reportedly reviewed aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the opportunities for their development.

Prince Mohammed and Tillerson also discussed the latest developments in the Middle East and the joint efforts of the two countries regarding the ongoing battle against terrorism and extremism. 

In view of middle east crisis focusing on Qatar, Tillerson visit is to seek some kind of compromise among GCC countries.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will be returning to Doha on 13 July to meet with Qatar’s Amir. Tillerson has returned to Kuwait and will fly to Qatar on 13 July reported al-Arabiya correspondent.

The four countries are stressing their adherence to their collective stand and measures taken against Qatar in light of its violation of international laws and norms.

The boycott is the first measure against Qatar’s support for terrorism and extremism and its adverse interference in the Arab states’ internal affairs and threatening their peace and security both nationally and internationally.
