Saudi King Salman warns Trump against relocation Al-Quds as the capital of Israel

(Riyadh-AlummahWorld- Rabi'I, 18, 1439H) The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud reiterated that a dangerous step of relocation or recognition of Al-Quds as the capital of Israel would constitute a flagrant provocation of Muslims, all over the world.

According to Saudi Press Agency, King Salman received a phone call from US President Donald Trump. During the conversation, they discussed bilateral relations binding the two countries, in addition to the latest regional as well as international developments.
The King stressed, during the call to the president, too, that any US declaration on the status of Al-Quds before reaching a final settlement, would harm peace negotiation process and escalate tension in the region.

Pointing out the unswerving stance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Monarch added that the Kingdom was and is still committed to support the Palestinian people and their historical rights.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques reiterated that such a dangerous step of relocation or recognition of Al-Quds as the capital of Israel would constitute a flagrant provocation of Muslims, all over the world, as per its lofty status to them and as it is the cradle of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first direction, they were facing, in their daily prayers.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Washington said on Monday that any announcement on Jerusalem's status before a final settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict would harm the peace process and increase tension in the region.

"Any American announcement on the status of Jerusalem before a final settlement is reached will harm the peace process and increase tension in the region," Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi ambassador to the United States, said in a statement.
